No matter what breed of dog you have, it is important to keep your pet well groomed. Dog grooming not only makes sure your dog looks good but also promotes hygiene. Proper hygiene prevents common diseases and infestation of external parasites like fleas and ticks, making your dog healthier.

For dog owners who are hands on in grooming their dogs at home, here are some tips that will help you in giving the best care.

Make sure you have ample time grooming your dogs, especially if they are heavy-coated. Dogs with heavy coat require regular brushing and more time washing. Remember that dog grooming at home may take a significant amount of your time; hurried dog grooming should not be done. Each grooming session may take two to four hours. If you are not sure whether you can allot that much time, consider getting a dog that is of low maintenance. Dogs with shorter coats only need a bath and nail trimming to look good.

Dog grooming should be done in intervals of four to six weeks. Even if your dog is of hairless breed, grooming should still be done at least monthly. Regularly trim nails, check anal glands, brush coat, and clean your dog’s ears.

Do not use clippers or scissors unless you have received proper training in dog grooming. Your dogs may get injured if you lack skills.

Train your dog for dog grooming. While still a puppy, your dog should be brought to grooming shops for it to get used to the experience. At home, practice your puppy to hold still by placing it on a towel. Comb the hair continuously.

Acquire more knowledge on dog grooming at home by watching videos on dog training and grooming. Websites with such videos are easily accessible and can provide you with demos on grooming the specific breed of your dog. Knowledge prevents unnecessary accidents and injuries.

For more specific dog grooming tips, here are ways to care for different breeds of dogs.

Boston Terrier is breed of little dogs that have a short muzzle, which makes them prone to overheating in hot weather. Bathing them often will cool them off. They also have short coats that need to be brushed only occasionally. The eye should also be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Smooth-coated Chihuahuas are of low maintenance. You only need to brush them occasionally to reduce shedding. Occasional baths are also needed.

Pugs are small dogs that moderately shed. Their short coat needs to regular brushing. A damp cloth may be used to clean the wrinkles in the face. This must be done weekly to prevent any skin disease from occurring.

Italian Greyhounds weigh from eight to fifteen pounds. They are runners and can climb and jump easily. They require more practice in holding still while dog grooming. After bathing, dry them well as they often get colds. They shed minimally, so brushing is not that needed. To keep the coat clean, the coat can just be wiped down.

Just follow these tips and you are on your way to having the best groomed dog!

Isn’t it just devastating to find our dogs afflicted by sickness, whether it be a mild or a severe case? Seeing our pets undergoing such enormous amount of pain is truly unacceptable. Our dogs’ health, before anything else that is of concern to them, should always take top priority.

Thus, it is important to have full knowledge on the most common dog health problems that we may encounter as we care for our dogs. With such knowledge, we can easily determine symptoms, quickly foresee health concerns, and immediately seek professional help. From the research I have done the best way to keep dogs healthy is to provide them with the right amount of exercise, and give them a good diet. If your dog is not getting the right vitamins and nutrients then you may want to consider dog vitamins. Read on to learn more about the common health problems that dogs may experience

Common Dog Health Problems Associated with Obesity

Other Common Health Problems in Dogs

Though most common diseases have already found solutions and preventive measures through vaccination, a little knowledge on such sicknesses is still of importance. Here are common dog health problems that we, as responsible dog owners, must be wary about.

Leptospirosis is a canine disease that affects the kidneys and induces diarrhea, jaundice and vomiting, accompanied by fever. It can lead to permanent kidney failure. It is caused by bacteria incurred from exposure to urine and saliva of other infected dogs.

Rabies is a fatal disease that is caused by a virus that affects that central nervous system. This leads to brain infection. It can be acquired through a bite from an infected dog.

Hepatitis is a common dog health problem that is, again, caused by a virus. The virus is transmitted through excretions, such as urine, feces, and saliva, of dogs with hepatitis. Dogs with hepatitis experience fever and hemorrhage.

Distemper is a dog disease that causes harm to the respiratory, nervous, and gastrointestinal systems. It is characterized by runny eyes and nose, diarrhea, cough, fever, paralysis, seizures, and nervous twitching. Distemper is transmitted by air.

Corona is a viral disease that can be easily transmitted. It infects the gastrointestinal system of dogs and has symptoms of fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration.

Tracheobronchitis, or kennel cough, is caused by both virus and bacteria that infect the respiratory glands of dogs. It may lead to pneumonia and can be determined by dry cough.

Parvovirus is a viral dog disease that is caused by contact with excretions of a dog infected with parvovirus. Fever, vomiting, and diarrhea are common symptoms of this disease, as the gastrointestinal system is the mainly attacked.

Intestinal parasites, often in the form of worms, are also common dog health problems. Tapeworms, roundworms, heartworms, and hookworms are common examples of these parasites. Ascarids and whipworms are also internal parasites that should be prevented from infecting our dogs.

External bug such as fleas, ticks, mange mites, and lice also cause imaginable disturbance to dogs’ health. They cause anxiety and irritability to dogs as they adhere to dogs’ hair tremendously and can prove to be a little difficult to remove.

Mouth problems such as drooling and foul odor are common dog health problems. Such are indicators of possible dental infections that need to be treated.

These are just some of the common dog health problems that we, as pet owners must deal with. Such problems can be treated at once with proper awareness.

One of the health problems that dogs become a victim of is diarrhea. Dog diarrhea is a common occurrence and should not cause too much alarm to dog owners. Nevertheless, as it still is a health concern, it is good to know what causes dog diarrhea in order to prevent your dogs from incurring it too often.

Dog diarrhea is characterized primarily by loose bowel movement that goes on for quite some time. It may occur in just a couple of days or even continue over a span of a few months. Dog diarrhea may begin as a mild case, with noticeable soft stool, but may lead to severe levels, with uncontrollable liquid excretions. The latter is what you don’t want to happen, as severe cases of diarrhea may yield more grave health concerns. If left untreated, diarrhea can cause dehydration in your dogs. Without proper supply of bodily liquids, your dogs may suffer from a weaker immune system, which, in turn, makes them susceptible to various diseases.

So What Causes Diarrhea in Dogs?

Dog diarrhea may have a number of causes. Primarily though, the presence of parasites, viruses, and bacteria in your dogs’ stomach is seen to be the culprit. These elements can introduce themselves into your dogs’ digestive system through what you feed them. Food and water that are not completely safe to eat, do not go well with your dogs’ suggested diet, or had gone stale may lead to stomach upset and then diarrhea.

For puppies, diarrhea may be caused by worms in the stomach. Worms act much like the parasites and bacteria previously mentioned and disrupt the normal digestive activity of your dogs. This change leads to loose bowel movement.

Does Stress Cause Diarrhea in Dogs?

Another notable cause of dog diarrhea is stress. Dogs that have been exposed to stress such as danger, urgency, or injuries may develop diarrhea, as a way of the body to react to or release stress.

Now that you know what causes dog diarrhea, you can avoid it from pestering your pets. Just make sure that your dogs receive proper diet and do not experience too much stress, and surely, dog diarrhea won’t be your problem.

For dog owners, the health of their beloved pets is of utmost importance. It is just disheartening to see our precious dogs have to experience physical pain and anxiety because of poor health. Thus, we have to provide the most proper health care and the best possible treatment.

Probably the most evident problems in dogs’ health are with regard to their skin. Diseases that affect dog skin health are easily seen, as the skin is the largest organ of the body. Common skin health problems may be acute or chronic. Some may require temporary treatment; some need lifetime care.

Here, some the most common dog skin health concerns are given, so that dog owners can be well informed.

Hot Spot is skin irritation that is caused by persistent licking and biting of the dog at itself. The infected area is inflamed and may spread immediately. It may worsen and lead to breaking down of the top layer of the skin and occurrence of pus. It may also lead to dermatitis ear disease, and skin allergy. Treatment of hot spot is through application of corticosteroid and antibiotic.

Follicular dysplasia is a dog skin health problem that causes massive hair loss. The hair follicles malfunction because of abnormal structure.

Atopy is a kind of hypersensitivity to anything that is inhaled or came in contact with the skin. It is a common dog skin health disease and is normally distinguished by constant itching. Areas that are commonly affected are the face, feet, and ears.

Acral lick dermatitis is characterized by lesions caused by incessant licking, especially in the lower part of the leg.

Dermoid sinus is a skin disorder that appears as lumps that may be just one and may increase in number. The lumps usually appear on the dorsal midline.

Flea allergy dermatitis is a common skin disorder that is caused by allergic reaction to flea saliva. Fleas are parasites that feed on dogs’ blood and are quite difficult to eradicate.

Pemphigus Foliaceus is dog skin disease that arises from overactive response of the immune system to foreign substance. Crusting of the skin and erosions in areas such as the eyes, nostrils, and mouth are symptoms of this disease.

Dermal fragility syndrome is a genetic dog skin health problem that is characterized by slow healing of wounds and injuries. The skin also becomes more elastic.

Food allergy is an adverse reaction to protein in food. This reaction can only be a mild case but can also lead to more severe cases. Food allergy manifests itself in the form of itching most especially in areas such as the face and the paws. Dogs diagnosed with this skin disorder are usually given hypoallergenic diet to relieve of the allergy.

Discoid lupus erythematosus is a skin disorder that shows itself as scales in the dogs’ skin. Loss of pigment mostly on the nose is also an indicator. Discoid lupus erythematosus results from overactive immune response.

Armed with knowledge on common dog skin health problems, dog owners can prepare for the best treatment to their beloved pets. The best way to give your dog a healthy skin and coat is by providing an appropriate amount of exercise, and by providing a good diet. To ensure your dog is eating enough vitamins you could consider a multivitamin for dogs.

Dog grooming is an important aspect in responsible pet ownership. Dogs need ample dog grooming to ensure proper hygiene and prevention of common diseases.
With this, career opportunities for dog groomers are abundant. Dog groomers are needed in pet shops, grooming salons, animal hospitals, and animal rescue centers. Some professional dog groomers offer at-home service to dog owners who may not have the time to bring their pets to grooming salons.
However, dog grooming is never an easy task, and proper training is needed. To become a certified dog groomer, one has to undergo intensive dog grooming training. This makes sure one has the proper skills in handling even the most nasty dog behavior.
Dog grooming training is offered by a number of schools and training institutes, and may vary from beginner to more advance. Some dog grooming training schools offer short, diploma, and degree courses. When choosing the best dog grooming training school, one has to visit the institute first to get an idea of how their training is. Observing classes and checking how they teach dog handling are ways to know if they provide the best dog grooming training.
Online learning or home study courses on dog grooming training have also been available. However, one has to make sure to take the best possible online course, since this is very different from ordinary hands-on training one can get from dog grooming training schools. One has to make sure that the home study program is licensed and the resulting dog grooming training certificate is well recognized. The creator of the program must have the best credentials, i.e., years in the dog grooming business, level of certification, etc., and must provide considerable level of instruction and feedback.
Generally, there is no age limit required to enroll, meaning anyone who is interested in becoming a dog groomer may opt to undergo dog grooming training, which may take just a few weeks.
In dog grooming training courses, one learns the specific details on grooming, products that should be used, sanitation, among others. One is acquainted with the habits, common behavior, and coat characteristics of different dog breeds. The best specified treatment of each breed is also learned. Dog groomers are also encouraged to give simple grooming techniques and proper handling tips to dog owners on how to maintain the appearance of their dogs.
Dog grooming training includes specific beginner and advanced skills. Beginner skills include brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, dematting, dental care, parasite recognition and eradication, drying techniques, proper dog handling, sanitation, skin health condition checking, and deshedding techniques. More advanced dog grooming skills include coat thinning, pre-bath coat shaving, coat stripping, trimming, removal of ear hair, overall dos evaluation, and specific breed styles.
Since dogs have different personalities, professional dog groomers must have the love for animals. This is the most important factor in becoming a good dog groomer. Dog groomers who have an inherent love for dogs relate better with their clients and provide the best grooming care always.

Grooming a dog is important to ensure your dog maintains a healthy coat, and healthy skin. If a dog does not receive the appropriate grooming it can result in a dull coat, excess hair, and problems with the coat and skin. These problems can avoided by properly grooming your dog, and the best way to do that is to know about the proper dog grooming tools, and learn how to care for your dog. Learning to groom a dog can help you save money by avoiding paying for a groomer, and also help save on vet bills by keeping your dogs coat clean.

Dog Grooming Tips

Remember that when grooming a dog you should always use the proper equipment. This means equipment that is appropriate for the dogs coat type. If the dog has a fast growing coat then it will require clipping or cutting, but a dog with a heavy coat may just need to be thinned out.

Another good tip is to familiarize your dog with the sights and sounds of grooming at an early age. You can do this by exposing them to the tools when your dog is a puppy. If the dog is familiar with the tools and sounds it will make grooming much easier at a later time

Dog Grooming Tool List

Here is a list of tools that you may need when grooming a dog. This list was compiled to help you be prepared, and make the process of grooming a dog much easier.

Spray bottle or water gun

Flea Comb

Training Disc

Clicker (like the ones used in dog clicker training)

A squeaky toy

Toothpaste for dogs

Chamois

Nail Cutters

Dog Whistle

Rubber brush

Bitter spray or taste deterent spray

Dog Crate

Synthetic bristle brush

Tooth tartar remover

Toothbrush

Soft pin brush

Bean bag bed or other comfortable bedding

Thinning Scissors

Slicker brush

Stripping comb

Electric clippers

Wide toothed comb

Narrow toothed comb

This is a fairly comprehensive list, however if you are going to fully groom your dog you will need almost all of these dog grooming tools, or a variation of them. Some of the dog grooming tools will only be needed once a month, while you may need others to perform daily grooming.

In our next article we will give you some grooming tips and talk about daily grooming. We will also explain how to use some of the tools described above.

The dog vitamins are made to help give your dog optimal nutrition, and quality vitamins and nutrients. Even the best quality dog food is limited by the process that is used to make the food. Dog food is made with high heat, which can degrade the nutrient count by up to 75%. Nuvet plus vitamins are made with human grade ingredients, and use a cold press technique that will help the end product hold the highest vitamin count.

If you are thinking of buying Nuvet plus or Nujoint plus you should read a number of Nuvet plus reviews to see how the vitamins work. Remember that every dog is different and results will vary, but Nuvet has a 60 day money back guarantee if you do not notice an improvement in your dogs health

Nuvet Plus Customer Reviews

We have already written our own Nuvet plus review, but we wanted to provide reviews from other customers. Below you will find a collection of reviews from various sources. We have included positive and negative reviews

These reviews were found on the terrific pet forum where someone was asking for opinions on Nuvet plus, of course a lot of people posted stuff that is not relevant to the question, so I will share the relevant ones here

Posted in 2008

“I thought NuVet Plus was another dog vitamin gimmick, but I gave ChiChi(12 year old Golden/Rott mix) 2 tablets a day as recommended by my supervising clinic directer, I called NuVet Labs, they recommended 1 tablet a day, but Dr. Ponci told me to use 2 per day.I called again and Nuvet labs told me to use the recommended dose, unless advised by a vet to use more, tablets per day but they were hesitant to recommend 2 2 a day. My Mentor(my boss) told me to use 2 per day. My dog is like a new dog. She plays like she did when she was a puppy. In Veterinary school, they don’t spend much time educating on supplements or nutrition. I can only say good things about that nuvet plus, it has really made a huge difference!!!. Now I give ChiChi only one a day, but I give 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night.”

This review was posted in 2005 and from reading the other posts it appears that the person writing is a dog breeder

I choose to feed my cavaliers the NuVet products – I have noticed an increase in coat – better weight management – and less dry skin. I do not require my puppies to be maintained on it – but I do recommend it as I feel it is good enough to feed my own dogs.

Here is a bit of a negative review of Nuvet, more of a neutral review as it appears the vitamin did not have an affect on their dogs. This was also posted in 2005, and the Nuvet formula has been improved since then.

“I tried NuVet on my 3 bullies and after several months on it I still didnt see a difference in their coats or anything so I took them off of it. I wouldnt even bother with the stuff”

Most of those reviews are from an old forum post. It is always nice to get current opinions on the product, but this also shows that Nuvet is still in operation and getting more popular. The first post was in 2005, which is almost 6 years ago now, you have to think that the vitamins must be working if people are still buying them!

Now we will look at a few customer reviews and opinions from a German shepherd forum. These were posted in 2008

Nuvet Scam?

Here is a post, and a response. The original poster thinks that Nuvet is a scam because of how they market the vitamins

Original Post – “I have done some more research on Nuvet plus and found that breeders appear to get a “kick back” from Nuvet if they recommend it to their clients. Each breeder has a unique code tied to Nuvet that they want you to use when ordering it from Nuvet’s web site.

I just had a 10 year old GSD die from cancer and I am looking for anything that might help prevent it from happening again with my new pup. Nuvet sort of sounds like a scam though.”

Response – “It is not a scam. It is simply a pet vitamin that is sold through network marketing…like Flint River Ranch Pet foods and Healthypetnet products.”

Response 2 – “I think it’s legit. I also think that if you have a pet who is relatively healthy, you don’t need supplements, just a good diet. If the dog is healthy, I don’t hink you’ll see a change with NuVet. Now if there are problems, supplements like NuVet can help the dog.“

It is true Nuvet gives bonuses to breeders for referring customers, however this does not mean the vitamins are a scam. This is a great way to encourage dog breeders to recommend a good product to their customers. Any good breeder would never recommend a product that does not work, otherwise they would destroy their reputation and their credibility. I have noticed Nuvet recommended on a lot of dog breeder websites, so this is more proof that they work, rather than a sign of a scam. Instead of using money to advertise on t.v and billboards, they give the money to the breeders for suggesting the vitamins. In a way this is a great way to reach new customers.

Reviews from the Nuvet Website

The best place to find Nuvet Reviews is from the Nuvet website under testimonials

This is a review of dog vitamins that helped with allergies.

Of course these would all be positive reviews, but it gives you a good bit of insight into what customers are saying. Basically what happens is if someone uses the product and loves it, they will send an email to Nuvet, and then Nuvet will post it on their website.

We received our first bottle of NuVet early in Dec. 2009. By Christmas we were seeing much improvement in the energy level of our two miniature schnauzers. Our four year old has been scratching and licking herself due to allergies that we had tried unsuccessfully to treat. She licked herself so much that her beautiful black coat was turning brown in the areas she licked most.

The licking and scratching has almost quit and her coat is turning back to black thanks to NuVet. Believe me we will be buying NuVet for a long time.

Here is a review from the Nuvet Website about a customer who noticed an increase in energy level in their dog.

We have an eight year old Maltese named Mollie. Our son recommended NuVet Plus to us about 2 years ago and we ordered your 30 day trial bottle. By the end of the 30 day period, we could tell a significant difference in her every day activity. She played more often and for longer periods of time and seemed to feel better.

We have given them to her for the two years since and would recommend them for any pet lover.

William & Jewel Ford Mollie, too!!!

Here is a review from someone who noticed improvements in all of their dogs who were on Nuvet Vitamins

After having my dogs, 2 Standard Show Poodles, 1 Rottweiler and 1 Chesapeake Bay Retriever, on the NuVet Plus vitamins for quite some time and seeing such great improvements in their coats and overall health, I just had to write to you and tell you about the difference I have seen this year in my Rottweiler.

My Rottweiler, Weena, is now 9 years old. She has hip dysplasia in one hip and by now also developed severe arthritis, especially in the winter time. Weena has not been much of a swimmer until Jake, the Chessie, came into our lives. Weena would jump into the water and try to retrieve the dummies, but Jake would swim way out into the deep water and pick up both dummies, sometimes even all 3 and keep them away from Weena. Meanwhile Weena had learned that if she wanted her dummy, she had to swim way out there and be fast. So Weena turned into a “water dog”.

Now at age 9, she still had tried to keep up with Jake, jumping in and out of the creek and chasing after him. Meanwhile whenever my husband came back from his daily excursion with both dogs to the water, Weena could hardly walk anymore and for sure by next morning, she was hurting real bad, so that she was limping. I told my husband to leave Weena at home until she was better.

I started giving Weena the NuVet ”NuJoint Plus” vitamins and could see a little improvement, when she didn’t play too hard. But now since I am giving her 3 tablets every morning, she has been “playing hard” every day and I have not seen her limp all spring and summer. Weena is a different dog, she even likes to play again with me, chasing her beloved Frisbee and returning it to me.

If you visit the Nuvet website, and visit the testimonial page you can see hundreds of testimonials about the vitamins and their effect on many common health problems.

Dogs are a lot like people in some ways, just like people, dogs can suffer from allergies.
It is no surprise that dogs also suffer similar symptoms. Ailments such as itchiness, breathing problems, ear infections and diarrhea are all signs of allergies in dogs. These allergies not only cause the dogs and the owners to be uncomfortable, but they can also stress the dog, which may lead to other health problems.

Sources of allergies

The main cause of allergies in dogs are

Fleas

Environmental sources

Foods

One of the biggest causes of allergies is food. Many large dog food manufacturer care more about their bottom dollar than the health of your dog. A lot of popular brands of dog food include meat by-products and filler grains like corn and wheat. These foods are not natural in a dogs diet, and can cause problems.

The meat products in dog food is also not inspected, which can result in low grade meats being used. This means that bacteria and other contaminants may be present in your dogs food, which can be a cause of allergies

The dangers of allergies in dogs

The initial sings of a dog with allergies are the least of your worries. When a dog is allergic to something their immune system will begin to fight the pathogens, this will cause the immune system to be weaker than normal, due to the constant fighting. Dogs with allergies also tend to scratch, bite, and chew to relieve any discomfort they may have. They will usually do this in excess which may lead to open wounds, which further complicates their conditions.

How to prevent allergies in dogs with vitamins

A dogs first defense is a healthy body and a healthy immune system. This can be achieved through proper nutrition the right amount of exercise. If a dog has a weak immune system this can be the beginning of problems with allergies.

The best way to prevent and fight allergies is to regularly groom your dog to keep their coat clean and strong, regular exercise, and feed then high quality dog food with a vitamin supplement. This combination will keep your dog at their healthiest for their entire life. A vitamin supplement is very important for your dog because of the way dog food is made. Quality vitamins like Nuvet plus are made to retain the most amount of vitamins possible, where dog food is made with high heat, this process will deplete a lot of the vitamins and nutrients that the ingredients contain.

How to treat a Dog with allergies

As mentioned before the best remedy is prevention, which is done through exercise and proper diet. Good dog food and a vitamin supplement will ensure your dog has a healthy digestive system and a strong immune system.

If your dog is suffering from any of the symptoms above your first step should be to ensure your dog is getting exercise, eating good food, and taking a proper dog supplement

What is the best dog vitamin?

One of the highest regarded dog multivitamins on the market is Nuvet plus, made by Nuvet labs. This vitamin was developed over a course of 10 years by vets and scientists to create a vitamin that will provide better health in dogs. Nuvet only uses human grace ingredients, approved by the FDA.

Your dogs health is important, and as medicine advances new discoveries are being made about how to achieve the optimal health for dogs.

It used to be good enough to feed a dog a cheap bag of food, but then people started to wonder why their dogs were getting sick and they had a pile of vet bills to pay. Luckily the pet food industry has started to clean up it’s act with some great dog food brands like blue buffalo dog dog food making all natural dog food with whole foods, but what about vitamins?

Nuvet labs is one company that has been developing supplements for dogs for over a decade. They have developed two products that are quickly becoming household names. Nujoint plus which is a joint supplement to help dogs who have arthritis and joint pain, and Nuvet plus, which helps with a number of common health ailments in dogs.

Two of the most common dog supplements on the market today are joint supplements for dogs, and multivitamins for dogs. Recent surveys suggest that more than half of the dogs in the us are now being fed a dog vitamin. With the popularity of products new questions are being asked

Can a dog have a joint supplement and a multivitamin?

The answer that we received from nuvet is yes. There is no overlap in the ingredients of nuvet plus, and nujoint plus, so you do not have to worry about your dog having too much of one vitamin or mineral. The joint supplemet nujoint plus is a hip and joint supplement that is made specifically for the bones and joints. Nuvet plus is a dog vitamin that focuses on the overall well being of a dog. It will help with things like coat and skin problems like itching, allergies and hot spots, and also help strengthen the immune system, skeletal system and nervous system.

It is recommened to give your dog nuvet plus first as it helps with many different symptoms, and then if your dog still needs extra support for their bones, then incorporate nujoint.

If you are interested in any of the above metioned products you can visit the nuvet website

After the benefits of proper nutrition and taking vitamins in the proper dosage was seen in people, we started to look to our pets.

Cats and dogs can also benefit from vitamin supplements and proper nutrition. Many pet owners want the best nutrition Their pets, and just as people eat healthy food and also take vitamins, dogs can also eat healthy dog food and benefit from a vitamin.

One common question is can a dog have a multivitamin? In my recent article entitled should dogs have multivitamins I address this question, the short answer is yes, but only vitamin made for a dogs digestive system and to suit their needs, and only in the right dosage, which brings people to the next question

What is the proper vitamin dosage for dogs?

This is a tricky question because first, it depends on what type of supplement you are giving your dog, and second it depends on your dogs weight and what you are giving them.

Nuvet plus is a popular dog supplement producer, and they make this task a bit easier. What they have done is develop a multivitamin just for dogs, with a lot of natural ingredients. We give these multivitamins to our dogs and recommend them to others. Nuvet recommends giving dogs under 5 pounds half a wafer / serving a day ( if you are using the powder) for dogs between 5 and 100 pounds one serving a day is recommended, and dogs over 100 pounds should eat two serving per day.

Instead of trying to figure out what vitamins you can give your dog, and how much is healthy, but how much is un-healthy, you can just put your trust in a company that spent over 10 years perfecting their formula. Nuvet makes it easy to give your dog the right amount of vitamins without worrying!
