Dog Grooming Tools – A Complete List

by admin on October 10, 2010

Grooming a dog is important to ensure your dog maintains a healthy coat, and healthy skin. If a dog does not receive the appropriate grooming it can result in a dull coat, excess hair, and problems with the coat and skin. These problems can avoided by properly grooming your dog, and the best way to do that is to know about the proper dog grooming tools, and learn how to care for your dog. Learning to groom a dog can help you save money by avoiding paying for a groomer, and also help save on vet bills by keeping your dogs coat clean.

Dog Grooming Tips

Remember that when grooming a dog you should always use the proper equipment. This means equipment that is appropriate for the dogs coat type. If the dog has a fast growing coat then it will require clipping or cutting, but a dog with a heavy coat may just need to be thinned out.

Another good tip is to familiarize your dog with the sights and sounds of grooming at an early age. You can do this by exposing them to the tools when your dog is a puppy. If the dog is familiar with the tools and sounds it will make grooming much easier at a later time
